“Care has always been central to my nursing career and I have especially enjoyed working with the elderly. This is an area that is often undervalued and overlooked, something we aim to change through Home Counties Carers. It is important to us that our service is not just one of duties performed and care given, but one of friendship and support, and our goal is to enable our clients and enrich their lives. Our staff understand that their role is not just about fulfilling the job but also reaching out and being there for those that may not have the family or social network and support they once had.”

“We give people the choice to live safely, happily and most importantly, confidently in their own homes for as long as they like. When they say they are ready to move into a care home, with family or supported living, it is entirely their choice and not the only option.
Every day we go into people’s homes and assist them to live independently, supporting them to make their own decisions and live life as they wish. It is the nicest way to spend our day.”

Hi, I am Lauren Mercer and I am the Live in Care Manager for Home Counties Carers. I am genuinely passionate about care and have spent my entire career progressing up the ranks of social care and look forward to being a Registered Manager someday soon.

Home Counties Carers’ strong culture, values and standards help us attract the very best Carers and this is so important for all our Clients. All of us are friendly, reliable, trust worthy and competent and take great pride in working by what we term as traditional values; polite, well mannered, prompt, well presented, clear communication skills and common sense.

Live in Care can be a fantastic alternative to the more traditional options of a care or nursing home. The benefits are many but I believe being happy is most important, and it is easier to be happier in the comfort and security of your own home with a care package chosen and tailored to your needs and preferences.

What makes me happy and gives me the most satisfaction is knowing that all of our carers are fully supported 24 hours a day 7 days a week and being there to help Clients and their families take the first steps tentative steps towards the most appropriate care solution for their needs.
